Root

Root

A = radicand number

n = index

WHAT IS IT ?

The root of a number x is another number, which when multiplied by itself a given number of times, equals x. For example the second root of 9 is 3, because 3x3 = 9. The second root is usually called the square root. The third root is susually called the cube root

CALCULATION:

Enter radicand "A"

Enter index e.g.: 3

EXAMPLE:

The base number is, for example, 16, and the index or exponent is 4. Since the root is the inverse function of the power, the 4th root of 16 will be 16 to the power of 1/4, which is 16 to the power of 0.25, thus 2.
